Why should we host an Au Pair from foreign country ?

In the future we will live in a more multicultural society, living with a foreign Au pair will
help your child adapt for the future.
The Au Pair program in Japan will assist you in raising your child, and let you stay focused
on your career.
Au Pair in Japan is a cultural exchange program for young people from around the world who want to learn Japanese language and culture.
Through this unique program for young people from around the world can experience Japanese culture and family life while staying with a family in Japan and assisting in providing child care.
Worldwide Au Pair program.
We're seeking a trial host families that lives in JAPAN.
At this time we will support only 5 families for free (No program fee is required.).

Any family with children that lives in Japan that is interested in child care with
a foreign Au Pair.

These host families will be required to write and return progress reports about
your experiences with the Au Pair as well as submit pictures of the Au Pair
and your family members.
Your expeiriences and pictures will be shared on our website and mail magazine ect.
(privacy policy: We only use your family name and the prefecture in which you live.)

Must have a Japanese class or school near your place for the Au Pair.
(Joining free Japanese courses organized by your municipality is acceptable.)

Must have children/a child under 18 years old.

Must be interested in foreign cultures.
Must provide a private room for the Au Pair (6+ tatamis).
(Families can also provide an apartment for the Au Pair, however the expenses must be paid by the host family.)
Must have the financial means to host an Au Pair.

Regulation requires Au Pairs to provide child care for a maximum of 35 hours a week
(maximum of 10 hours a day) .
Including...
dropping off and picking up your children from school and lesson etc,
checking homework, cleaning up after your children, cooking for your children,
playing with your children, and doing your children's laundry.
Babysitting one or two nights a week.

Light housework (vacuuming etc.)
Must provide a private room for the Au Pair (6+ tatamis).
(Families can also provide an apartment for the Au Pair, however the expenses must be paid by the host family.) 
Host family provides food for 3 meals a day. It is possible to provide unprepared food
if the Au Pair can cook.

Host family provides
a stipend of 10,000yen a week.
Host family provides insurance for the Au Pair. Fee for 1 year is ¥49,800(¥136 a day),
or ¥30,000 for 6 months.
The Au Pair is entitled to a day-off and a half day, usually on Saturdays and Sundays, these day off are expected to be on the weekends.
The host family must allow the Au Pair to have a full weekend off
(ex. from Friday night to Monday morning) once a month.
The Au Pair is entitled to 2 weeks vacation (if they stay in JAPAN for 1 year.)

It depends on the Au Pair's nationality.
If Au Pair's country has a working holiday visa agreement with Japan, then they will come to Japan on a working holiday visa.
(Au Pairs can stay in Japan for 1 year on a working holiday visa.)
If the country doesn't have a Working holiday visa agreement with Japan,
they will come to Japan without visa(tourist visa) for 3 months.
(if it's possible, they will stay another 3 months in Japan for a total of 6 months.)

Program fee is FREE ¥0 (except the stipend and Au Pairs insurance etc)
